Ways To Balance The Nervous System
As I mention in the video I have a gallbladder stone, that is approximately 1cm and I have been able to keep it from causing problems with the following protocol.
1. Diet. You need to increase your intake of beets, beets contain a high natural dose of trimethylglycine (TMG) that is essential for the health and function of the liver. young growing beet leaves have the greatest source of betaine and multiple studies suggest that it can protect against cirrhosis and even assist in regenerating liver cells. This will get the bile moving and reverse gallbladder stasis, which is how the stones really form in the first place. If you prefer to just take a whole food supplement then you will need to take BETAFOOD from STANDARD PROCESS, 6 a day. Next you need to supplement with CHOLINE from STANDARD PROCESS, 12 a day. Choline assists in fat metabolism in the liver, it reduces surface tension of fat particles making them more easily emulsified by the bile salts. Finally you need to take CHOLACOL from STANDARD PROCESS, 6 pills a day. This is essentially purified bile salts with th eherb Collinsonia added to support the vascular system. If you are having light colored stools this will be your answer. In selected cases I may also suggest LIVTON COMPLEX from MEDIHERB, 6 pills a day. I also recommend a diet high in vegetables with limited animal fats and proteins, a basically vegetarian diet with meat only a few times a week and then grass fed, as wild as possible. Stay away from sugars and toxins that will stress out the liver, it will take 6 months to heal the liver and stabilize the gallbladder. REMEMBER, if you are having severe pain from your gallbladder SEEK OUT MEDICAL ATTENTION, this can be very serious and usually removing the gallbladder will resolve your problem. This protocol is not for everyone and may not help you depending on how progressive the disease has become.
2. PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Therapy, and it is unlike anything currently available. PEMF has the ability to penetrate through the body and into the Gallbladder, stimulating contraction and bile production. The turbulence created also, in my opinion slowly dissolves the size of the gallstones. A similar therapy is used to dissolve kidney stones in the United States and at one time was used for treating the gallbladder but now sadly it is no longer recommended and has been replaced with full gallbladder removal surgery. I have many videos on this site about PEMF and I would encourage you to learn more about this therapy. I have personally seen it reverse gallbladder disease and many other assumed incurable conditions. You will need about 20 hours of PEMF therapy to reach optimal results.
Using a Butterfly IQ diagnostic ultrasound (which I own and use at my clinic), I preformed a gallbladder scan before and after preforming a standard gallbladder flush. I basically drank a cup of olive oil, some apple juice, lemons and salt. It was horrible. Then I went to bed. In the morning I hit the bathroom with severe, balistic diarrhea. In my stool I found lots of green stones, amazing, except for the fact they were not gallstones or in this case my one gallstone. These obects are in fact just basically soap balls created in my colon from the ingestion of so much oil mixed with my bile. So sad. I preformed another ultrasound and unfortunately my stone was stil present. It had moved, as it does frequently but it was still very much present.
Perhaps the flush has benefits in moving bile, which is a primary way to maintain the gallbladders health but I do not believe it can remove a stone. Of course it would be impossible for a large stone to get through the cystic duct but I considered some mechanism where the flush may dilute the duct, but no, not happening.
Let me start out by saying there is an endless feed of independently published human research on the value of soy foods, and soy isoflavones. The studies go back for decades, over one hundred going back over 40 years to 1970. If you start researching different diseases and conditions like cancers, menopause, prostate health, heart and artery disease, the studies on isoflavones helping and in some cases reversing these conditions are overwhelming. Studies from clinics around the world in major medical journals kept finding new or confirmed benefits for soy supplementation.
Articles were published in the Journal of Nutrition (v 131, 2001 and v 132, 2002) on the value of soy isoflavones for heart and artery health. In the first study, 208 women were studied. The doctors concluded, "These data suggest a protective role for dietary soy intake against CVD in post-menopausal women." The women with the highest intake of isoflavones had lower body mass indexes, lower body fat, smaller waists, and much lower insulin levels. High insulin leads to diabetes, heart disease, cancers, and other illnesses. Read the two insulin articles. The second study was from the famous Framingham Study. Here doctors studied 939 women. "High intake of phytoestrogens in postmenopausal women appears to be associated with a favorable metabolic, cardiovascular risk profile."
First, let's look at some of the anti-soy propaganda. The claim is made that Asians really don't eat much soy after all. That's ridiculous, as anyone will tell you who has visited Japan, China, Viet Nam, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and other countries. They have been eating soy for centuries. A wide variety of soy foods has been an essential part of their culture. The Okinawans are the healthiest and longest-lived people on earth. They eat an astounding 12% of soy foods in the daily diet. Who is the second longest living and healthiest? The Japanese and they eat a lot of soyfoods. So do the Taiwanese, Vietnamese, and other cultures. Billions of Asian people over the last 100 years are indisputable proof soy is good food. This is inarguable proof of how healthy soy foods are.
Two articles were published in the Journal of Nutrition (v 131, 2001 and v 132, 2002) on the value of soy isoflavones for heart and artery health. In the first study, 208 women were studied. Let's take a look at cholesterol, for example. There have been so many studies published on the value of soy supplementation for lowering total cholesterol and LDL (the bad kind) cholesterol you can hardly count them. Soy added to the diet also raises HDL (the good kind) cholesterol levels. All this without any change in diet or exercise. When soy supplements are added to a better diet and lifestyle changes, the benefits are even more dramatic. How can soy improve your blood lipids so powerfully if it is "dangerous"? Doesn't make sense, does it?
What is the most significant killer disease all over the world? Coronary heart and artery disease by far. The Framingham Study is the largest and longest ongoing CHD study of all. This study concluded, “high intake of phytoestrogens in postmenopausal women appears to be associated with a favorable metabolic, cardiovascular risk profile.” In fact, they found a massive 34% difference in CHD disease between women with low soy intake and high soy intake. 34% folks.
Here is a significant fact you need to embrace, Soy is not a “phytoestrogen” as it is completely and totally unrelated to any kind of estrogen. Hormones only exist in animals and not plants. Soy has Isoflavones which are PLANT PIGMENTS, not phytoestrogens. Our estrogen receptors will not accept soy isoflavones. No one else on earth is telling you that there is no such thing as "phytoestrogens"... but now you know.
A lot of the anti-soy hysteria is coming from places like the America Dairy Association (ADA), who obviously wants you to keep drinking lots of milk. When you trace back the negative studies, as I have done you will find this nasty little connection, most roads lead back to the ADA. Shame, shame... Mooo, Mooo. Furthermore, eating meat and exposing oneself to endocrine disruptors in the environment are the primary contributors to feminization.
Interestingly enough, drinking beer with hops is one of the strongest sources of feminization. Hops contain 8-prenylnaringenin (8-PN), which binds to alpha receptors that are responsible for triggering cell growth in tissues affected. Conversely, soy binds to beta receptors that are responsible for retarding the cell growth response. In other words, soy has anti-growth effects whereas hops tell tissues to grow. This is one reason why heavy beer drinking men develop so-called man-boobs, gynecomastia. I say, very interesting, don't you think?
Now listen, all is not rainbows and sunshine for us soy users (#soyboy), no far from it my tofu friend. You see soy is a significant cash crop in this country and it is grown in massive amounts to feed livestock. Yup, your steak burger was raised on soy but not the friendly healthy type, no instead this is GMO (genetically modified) and grown with many nasty chemicals to produce optimal yields. Hmm, consider that the ADA is telling you not to eat or drink soy products, but it is buying these same products, the heavily poisoned, GMO version and feeding it to the animals they are selling you to eat and drink (cows milk). Now that's screwed up! Isn't it? You cannot make this stuff up people, it's that unbelievable.
So first make sure all your soy foods are marked “organic” or “non-GMO”, so you avoid GMO soy. Personally I enjoy organic plain soy milk and Tempeh almost daily, and by the way, I have full blood work done twice a year, and my hormone levels are perfectly balanced, in fact, my estradiol is <5 (which is actually very low), so no man boobs in my future. Of course, I also do not drink beer... just saying.
Since I started eating organic soy products my LDL cholesterol have come way down and my HDL cholesterol has come up. This is a good thing. Also, my blood pressure has come under control without medications (I tend to run a hypertension profile), and all my numbers show I am much more healthy. Of course, I am not eating as much red meat and other animal products because of the soy substitution so all these are considered factors, like the fact I am drinking green tea and not coffee, etc...
Still the overall vibe for soy is positive, and I am always recommending it to patients, as long as they do not have adverse reactions to it. You see there is not one size fits all, and I acknowledge some people just don't do well on soy... or dairy, or fish or nuts. So as always, we have to make smart decisions based on our individual biochemistry, but when you hear that eating soy causes terrible illness like thyroid conditions, diabetes, nutritional deficiencies, pancreatic problems, endocrine disorders, brain dysfunction, and even various cancers, this is too ridiculous to comment on. Too many people, however, take such ravings seriously. When you try to find proof of these allegations, they start to evaporate. If you actually hunt down any of these so-called "studies" and look at them in detail, you'll see they have no validity at all.
If you want to improve your health, just drink soy milk and use it in cooking or you can take a 40 mg isoflavone capsule daily. This will benefit you in ways we haven't even discovered yet. New studies are being done all the time in clinics around the world. Soy is good stuff, science has proven it and now you know.

Stomach problems are so common and they really can destroy your life if left untreated. About a year ago I developed a serious stomach condition and I want to share with you all the mistakes I made and how I finally got better. This is my own, personal story.
So acid reflux, GERD, sour stomach, silent reflux… there are many names, but they all involve the stomach. About a year ago I injured my stomach, and I think it was from an experiment I was doing with high dose Turmeric powder. Yes, I do tests on myself, and sometimes it just does not work out so good for me. Well, this was one of those times, I was taking like 10 grams of Turmeric a day and combining it with a high acidic diet of red meat when one day on my way home from the clinic I had such a pain in my chest that I had to pull off the road. Of course, I immediately thought I was having a heart attack, damn carnivore diet! And so I crawled into the local urgent care center and did an EKG, which was fine. The next day I drove down to see a friend of mine Dr. Allan Tantumbam, who is an excellent internal medicine specialist and he listens to me and says, “Steve you have acid reflux”, Of course, I thought what not me no way, that’s for people who drink beer and eat hot wings… nope. So, as I do for all my patients I developed a plan to take care of this, except this time I was the patient. Dr. T, as good as he is, just wrote me an Rx for Omeprazole and said take a double dose, it should go away in a month or so. And immediately after I took about 40mg of Omeprazole, I noticed the pain disappeared completely. But after a week or so I started getting some horrible side effects from this drug, including anxiety and I decided to stop. When I did, I got the pain back again but this time twice as bad and I later learned this was called rebound and it is common in people who come off these drugs. So I am back where I started, and I began researching and realized I needed a better approach. Here’s what I did;
I ordered an H Pylori breath test. This is a bacteria that looks like a corkscrew, and it burrows itself into your stomach lining (corkscrews), and it excretes ammonia which is alkaline and neutralizes the stomach acid to protect itself from the acidity, and from there it usually creates stomach ulcers, and eventually it can lead to nasty things like stomach cancer. If you have this bug, you must first kill it with antibiotics, or specific herbal therapies, like Garlic, or Wormwood. Luckily I never tested positive for H.Pylori.
Next, we need to heal the stomach. At this initial stage, we do not want to introduce more acid, Apple cider vinegar is a big no-no at this stage, in fact IMO you never want to drink ACV, it is horrible stuff and can burn your throat and make you very sick. Instead, we want to soothe the stomach until it heals. For this you want to adopt a low acid diet, the one I used was from Dr. Jamie Kaufmann, MD. This means alkaline foods and no coffee, soda or alcohol. In my own case, I ate a lot of bananas, boiled chicken breast, potatoes, and rice. All plain. Oatmeal also was a staple. I took Hipep from Mediherb. These pills contain Deglycyrrhizinized Licorice root 12:1 extract from Glycyrrhiza glabra root 3.42 g, 285 mg per tablet, Chamomile flower 6:1 extract from Matricaria recutita flower 600 mg, 100 mg per pill, and Meadowsweet herb 5:1 extract from Filipendula ulmaria herb 500 mg, 100 mg per tablet. I took 2 of these after every meal, and it helped so much. I also took Chlorophyll Complex from Standard Process, which is a tremendous general product for any type of healing. I took around 9 of these a day in between meals on an empty stomach. Now in my case, I did find Pepcid really helped. Pepcid is different from omeprazole because it is not a pump inhibitor; instead, it still allows your body to produce acid, but it just reduces the output. I took 1 in the morning and one before dinner 20 mg each time and it really helped during this stage. You may not need the Pepcid, but in my case, I did and was glad it was available.
After about 2 months of this routine, I was feeling 60% better but not eating much, and I had lost weight. Honestly, I was pretty miserable and went through some intense headaches from caffeine withdrawal at this time. White Willow Bark really helped with this. So now I had this stomach that was healed up nice but not used to making enough acid, so I started digestive enzyme support, I used Zypan, which has hydrochloric acid (HCL) but also contains pancreatic enzymes. This makes for a much better choice than Apple Cider Vinegar. I would take 1-2 of these with each meal. After about a month, all my remaining stomach pain went away. If you are a vegetarian, you can use a substitute product for the Zypan called Enzycore, which only contains plant enzymes, and it will still produce results for you.
So at this stage, I backed off the digestive enzymes, only using them when I would eat a very acidic meal, say a ribeye steak or something like that and honestly I never went back to alcohol or coffee, and my stomach has been doing very well. I read that celery was really good for getting your stomach to make its own acid and so I tried juicing celery but to get the recommended dosage of 16 oz I need 2 bundles and they cost like 4 each, so I was not going to do that every day. Instead, I started taking a Celery Seed from Mediherb, 5ml a day and this is much cheaper and much easier for me to do. I stopped all digestive enzymes and just did the celery seed for another month and then I stopped that as well. Everything seemed back to normal, and now I don’t take anything for my stomach, but man the whole process took several months and during that time I had a few setbacks.

Toxins attach to our cell membranes and block the channels that allow nutrition to flow into the cell as well as waste products to be removed. In some cases these toxins can also pass through the channels and enter the cell, destroying the mitochondria and essentially killing the cell. This is a standard mechanism for the development of many types of cancers.
Fortunately, our bodies have an innate system to remove toxins called the detoxification pathway. It is a complex operation that involves making the dangerous chemicals able to be excreted out of the body through our sweat, urine, and bowels. Exercise helps this process as does a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables. PEMF therapy assists in the removal of toxins, especially the heavy metals like those found in pesticides and herbicides, by literally shaking the cellular membranes and knocking the toxins off the channels. This releases the toxins into the bloodstream where they can be removed by the detoxification pathways. This seems like an ideal relationship, between PEMF and the removal of toxins, but there is a problem. Many sick people do not have well functioning detoxification pathways, in fact, I would say that just about everyone who I see in my clinic is compromised. For example, if you have arthritis, any amount of arthritis, your body's ability to detoxify is not working at an optimal level. In these patients, they experience side effects after they treat with PEMF because all the toxins are released from the cell into the bloodstream and they are not able to remove these dangers chemicals. What's even worse is that these toxins can efficiently redistribute into other previously toxin free cells. Typical side effects I have seen include elevated heart rate, rapid breathing, headaches, nausea, air hunger, anxiety, brain fog, disorientation, and internal tremors.
To prevent and lessen the side effects of detoxification there are several essential steps that a patient must take when they are treating with PEMF therapy.
1. Stay hydrated, with at least 64 oz of water a day. In most cases, you should include a small amount of sugar and salt in that hydration process.
2. Ingest a binder before starting your PEMF session. Binders are products that will attach to the toxins and allow them not to be redistributed into your system once they are cleared out of the cell. There are many useful binders available including Activated Charcoal, Detox Clay and Chlorella Tablets (broken cell wall).
3. Support your liver, kidneys, and bowels, these are your primary detoxification pathways. I have discussed ways to support these organs in other posts, but the key is healthy food choices. If you are constipated, you will not clear the toxins out of the system, and so in some cases, I will even recommend enemas.
4. Minerals. One of the side effects of toxin removal and heavy metal chelation is minerals get depleted. You want to make sure you are supplementing with good mineral support. I believe the most common mineral I see getting removed is Zinc, so make sure you are at least getting zinc replacement.
In my clinic I make all this easy, I will start patients engaged in PEMF therapy on SP Balance Detox Support Shakes (CLICK) I will have them do these shakes for the 10 days to open the detoxification pathways. In severe cases, we may do 28-day support, but that is usually not necessary. Also, I will recommend Chlorophyll Complex (CLICK) and Catalyn (CLICK) to help with binding and mineral support.
I believe PEMF is the future of medicine and holds the unlimited potential to help heal any illness. However, we must remember that with such a powerful tool there also exists the possibilities for injury for the inexperienced. I operate 2 XL PRO Pulse Machines seeing about 30 patients per day 5 days a week, and in the majority of cases when a person does not respond favorably, it is because their detoxification pathways are not strong enough. You can test these pathways in a variety of tests, but the one I use most is the urinary porphyrins. In 100% of cases, this test shows a significant increase in pathway activation. My personal research seems to suggest a significant improvement after about 10 hours with normalization somewhere after 30-40 hours of PEMF therapy. So PEMF is a long term commitment for the patient and must never be promoted as just a simple, harmless, passive modality. PEMF is the most dramatic treatment I have experienced in 18 years of practice, and both patients and doctors need to be educated in the safest most effective use of its technology to produce the most exceptional results.
In simple terms the distance between beats of the heart measures the heart's variability, also known as heart rate variability (HRV). The significance of this variability directly relates to the health of the nervous system. A highly variable rate indicates a plastic nervous system that can adapt easily and promote longevity, however a static HRV shows the systems failure to change and is seen frequency in illness and degeneration.
Being able to measure and record HRV is, in it's self a great asset when you are examining a patient's overall health and ability to heal. There are applications that can be downloaded on smart phones fro a few dollars that allow the layperson to now control this sort of technology, and I recommend everyone investigates HRV and the potential it holds. Perhaps the most simplest and FREE app is the Kenkou Stress Compass, you can search for it online. For years I have used HRV with success and it has become a strong factor in my patient evaluations however recently I was fortunate to encounter Patrick Botte, from http://www.saintphonie.be and he has introduced me to a much more expanded way to collect the data. Partick has written software that can compute multiple waves from the original HRV wave, allowing us to visualize the Sympathetic, Parasympathetic and Cranial rhythms. Now, we can isolate these individual signals and see an instant response to treatments.
In particular the introduction of being able to measure the cranial wave is remarkable, since it has taken me more than 15 years to be able to sense this subtle rhythm, now I can validate its existence on a computer screen in less than 2 minutes. Anyone in the field of manual medicine would immediately understand these implications but for the average person it simply means you can see immediately if a treatment applied to your condition is useful or not.
